Minimal Thanksgiving Floral

Gathering season is right around the corner and we couldn’t be more excited.  There’s something so special about being with people you love, listening to autumn jazz, and the sweet smell of pumpkin pie filling the house.  It’s little moments of laughter and a Thanksgiving table scape with the family’s “nice plates” that bring us joy.  If you’re a lover of design, Thanksgiving is the perfect opportunity to create an intentional and meaningful space.  You can do this through handmade ceramic plates, artful floral, or even what you cook for your guests.   

We created this minimal and artful Thanksgiving floral using a floral frog and a simple white bowl.  The floral frog helps create an Ikebana-style arrangement, a type of Japanese flower arranging. Ikebana floral is minimal, intentional, and adds a touch of floral to your space without it being overpowering.  One tip that we have when creating floral is to give the flowers time to open up.  We love when roses are completely open and imperfect.  

Creating an Intentional Thanksgiving Table

One of my favorite ways to create an intentional Thanksgiving table is by using handmade serveware.  These ceramic plates by Your House or Mine were gifted to my husband and I on our wedding.  They hold sentimental value and also have a unique shape that make them a great conversation piece.  Another way I love to create an intentional Thanksgiving table is by serving wine from a local vineyard or ingredients from a local farmer’s market.  When everything at your table has meaning and purpose, the meal feels more special.  The last way I like to create an intentional space is through Thanksgiving floral.  Using warm tones like these blush roses and autumnal hydrangeas create a cozy and fall atmosphere.
